Project Summery.
Evidentiary, there are generally low literacy levels among the adolescent and young women in Tanzania when compared to men. The current situation is attributable to many factors including cultural practices. Child labor and exploitation, early marriages and female genital mutilation are rampant in Tanzania. Similarly tuition fee and scholastic materials is hardly affordable for parents with school going children particularly in rural areas.
Safe space arrests this problem by seeking scholarships to young girls and women of school going age. There is evidence that most school going children are from wealthy families. The reverse is true. Owing to the intersectionality consciousness, safer spaces will endeavor to include in the programs women /adolescents living with disability and lesbian girls whose challenges are slightly more unique than the rest.
