Project Summery.
Unprecedented levels of mental illnesses have been witnessed in the recent past. The emotional wellbeing of AGYW is not up to date. Some AGYW have had bad experiences growing up. Some have experienced rape that has interfered with their emotional wellbeing. Some for reasons beyond their control such as physical disability remain unstable for the better part of their lives. The word safe space finds expression in such circumstances. The organization’s focus will be on expanding spaces AGYW can talk about their issues freely without being judged. Thereafter, trained mentors preferably their age mates will be used to demystify inconsistent beliefs.
Safe spaces through its mandate will contribute not only to the wellbeing of the AGYW but to the broader 2030 development agenda.
